Israel Inspiration Foundation (IIF) exists to help young people attain a good quality education because this will help them escape poverty through getting decent income generating opportunities. Education equips them with skills to face the increasingly competitive world.

They will also be better able to support their families and the communities in which they live. We offer education scholarships to the most needy children in families in rural areas of Uganda. We are currently operating in Eastern Uganda.

This project was started in 2014 after observing the following issues in the rural communities.

  • Some of the UPE schools that the children attend still require certain payments to be made by the parents, for instance examination fees, lunch fees, stationery fees, emergency funds. Parents in these rural areas cannot afford to pay these because of their economic situation.
  • Some of the schools that were closest to the families were not under the UPE system. Parents were not able to pay the private school fees and children would have to walk long distances to get to the UPE schools.
  • The UPE schools were overcrowded with very high student to teacher ratios. This reduces the quality of education that these schools can offer the children.
